Sales Policy

We will only sell goats in pairs, unless you already have goats.  Goats are herd animals and need companions.  We sell our goats for showing, milking or pets.  We care a great deal about our goats and want them to have happy, healthy homes.  All goats are disbudded and vaccinated before leaving.

Reservations:

Winter's Rest Farm  maintains the right to retain any goat born on our farm before filling reservations.  We do our best to fill our reservations, but we have no control over what is born.  Kids are sold on a first come first serve basis off of our reservation list.  Please, contact us to be placed on the list by making a deposit.  Once, your goat has been born or becomes available you will be contacted.  We ask that you respond within 48 hours or we will move on to the next person on the list. A $50 deposit per goat is required to hold your reservation.  We prefer to dam raise our babies unless there are extraordinary circumstances and we suggest you wait to pick up your kid until weaning at 8 weeks old.  Any goat not picked up by the pre set date or weaning will be charged $1 per day boarding fee.  Any goat not picked up after 30 days of pick up date will result in all deposits being forfeited and the goat being put back up for sale.   If there is a reservation that we cannot fill, we will refund the deposit. However, if a reservation is cancelled we will not refund the deposit!  Once we have recieved a deposit on a goat it will be marked as "Sale Pending".  Final payment must be made before the goat leaves our farm.

Registration:

Our Mini Nubians are registered with MDGA.  Kids are sold with the registration applications.  Adults are sold with the certificate and bill of sale. It is the buyers responsibility to pay the registration and transfer fees.

Health Certificates:

Health certificates are available at the buyers expense.  The cost of health certificates, as well as any other testing, is the responsibility of the buyer.  Please let us know in advance if you need a health certificate as it requires a vet visit and must be scheduled in advance. We test our herd for CAE annually. We have a disease free herd.

Guarantee:

We guarantee our goats are healthy when they leave us.  We do not have control over what happens once they leave our farm and make no guarantees once they have left our property.  However, we are more than happy to help new owners and love to keep in touch to find out how they are doing!
